Complete and
Partial Dentures
A Denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available – complete and partial. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth are still present. In Partial denture there is one more variety called Cast Partial Denture which has metal frame work with
the acrylic plate which is more comfortable and gives better strength than normal partial denture. There are various types available in dentures depending on type of material used.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are used as a permanent tooth replacement option that can restore the function and appearance of missing teeth. It is a tooth “root” like device, made of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone. Once placed in the bone it integrates with the bone. The procedure is done in Two-Stages, first the surgical phase that involves placing the implant in the bone. Second- stage is a Restorative Phase, done after a healing period of a few months, involves attaching a Crown or a Bridge on the Implant, providing a strong and natural-looking replacement tooth.
In some scenarios, but not always, the Implants can be placed immediately after extraction of the teeth and also can be immediately restored with a Crown. We at 32 Pearls Family Dental Care, have incorporated the latest advances in technology to make the Surgical process predictable. Recovery from dental implant surgery is usually quick and painless. You may experience some swelling and discomfort, but this should go away within a few days.
Tooth
Extraction &, Other Surgical procedures
Tooth extraction is necessary if any natural tooth is badly decayed or damaged. It is the removal of tooth from its socket. Extraction is categorized into surgical and non-surgical, depending on the type of tooth to be removed and its position in the jaw. Crowns and Bridges:
Crowns (caps) are used to cover teeth that are weakened by decay, severely damaged, chipped or discoloured. Crowns on teeth are frequently required after root canal therapy to protect them from fracture. The tooth is shaped to
support the crown. Crowns can be metallic or metal-free. The advantage of metal free crowns, such as Zirconia and E.max, are the masking of the grey
hue on the gum line caused by the silver coloured metal which gives natural look to the tooth.
While implant dentistry has decreased the need for bridges, we at 32 Pearls Family Dental Care use the classical bridge to replace a missing tooth where the case is not ideal for implant. Bridges can also be metallic or metal free.
